Indore: A video of a woman getting beaten by a group of four had gone viral on social media. The woman is seen grounded, and she was being beaten with belts, NDTV reported.
The incident happened on a busy road in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh and occurred late at night on Friday.
The video shows the victim being beaten mercilessly, pulling her hair, punching, kicking her face etc. Meanwhile, those around the scene stood doing nothing. The assaulters were reportedly drunk.
Police said that the victim alleged in her complaint that she was attacked for nothing, without any reason. Police have registered a case charging the accused with obscene acts, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
The victim is a salesperson in a pesticide shop in Indore's Dhenu market.
