Mumbai: A woman driving a high-end Audi car was rescued after she accidentally drove into a ditch in Navi Mumbai while following directions on Google Maps, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday in Belapur. According to police, the woman, who was alone in the car, was supposed to take the Bay bridge but mistakenly took a wrong turn guided by Google Maps and ended up at Dhruvtara Jetty, where the vehicle fell into a ditch.

Police arrived at the spot after being alerted and, with the help of a marine security team, their boat and local authorities, rescued the woman.

The woman, who owns a salon business in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar area, was returning home to Ulwe from Belapur when the mishap took place, officials said.
