Hyderabad: A disturbing video circulating on social media allegedly depicts Gujarat police tying a man accused of cow slaughter to the bonnet of a police vehicle and beating him with sticks. The clip, shared widely on X and other platforms, captures the man pleading, “Ya Allah, bachalo” (Oh Allah, save me), as officers assault him. The incident follows the arrest of three individuals in Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur area on Tuesday for alleged cow slaughter.

Vejalpur police acted on a tip-off about illegal activity in an open field near a residential society. The FIR states officers discovered a group slaughtering cows behind bushes. Several suspects fled upon the police's arrival, but three were detained. The raid yielded 520 kg of meat worth Rs 1.56 lakh, a live calf, sharp knives, an autorickshaw, a number-plate-less car, and a mobile phone.

A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Gujarat Animal Preservation Act, and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Local reports name nine suspects, with three in custody. Cow slaughter remains banned under Gujarat state law.
