Yoga gained immense global popularity: Modi claims

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Monday that yoga gained tremendous popularity worldwide. He was talking on the occasion of International Yoga Day, which comes on June 21.

In a tweet, he further claimed many, irrespective of their profession or life status, practice yoga and talk about how it helped them. People from different walks of life, including leaders, CEOs, sportspersons and actors, regularly practice yoga and talk about how it has helped them, he said in his tweet.

Along with his tweet, he posted a video with clippings of himself talking about the practice at United Nations General Assembly in 2014, following which June 21 was adopted as International Yoga Day. He also detailed in the video the benefits of the practice.
