Kochi: An Abu Dhabi-bound IndiGo flight with over 180 passengers on board returned to Kochi early on Saturday following a technical snag, sources said.

Flight 6E-1403, operated with an Airbus A320neo, departed Kochi at 11.10 p.m. on Friday but turned back after being airborne for more than two hours. It landed safely at 1.44 a.m.

There were more than 180 passengers and six crew members on board. No official statement was immediately issued by IndiGo.

The passengers were later accommodated on another aircraft, which departed for Abu Dhabi around 3.30 a.m. with a fresh set of crew, as the original team had to be replaced due to flight duty time limits.

According to flight-tracking website Flightradar24.com, the flight was midway through its journey when the snag occurred, prompting the diversion back to Kochi.
