Thrissur: Three migrant workers were killed on Friday when the old building they were living in collapsed due to heavy rain in Thrissur.

The incident occurred at 6 a.m., as the migrant workers were preparing to go to work at the construction site.

The deceased have been identified as Rahul, Rupel, and Ali of West Bengal.

The building housed 17 migrant labourers. Following severe rain, the middle section of the old house, which had clay tiles on its roof, collapsed alongside the concrete section, TNIE reported.

Chalakudy fire personnel arrived and rescued the remaining three, who were trapped behind the collapsed concrete pillars.
