Thiruvananthapuram: 2,479 people tested positive for coronavirus infection in Kerala on Friday. On a positive side, 2,716 people were declared recovered from the viral infection.

Out of those who tested positive on Friday, 59 people came from foreign countries and 71 are from other states in India.

2255 contracted the disease through local contacts. Out of these, source of infection of 149 remains unknown.

21,268 people are undergoing treatment for the disease at present.

11 deaths due to the infection were reported on Friday.

34 health workers are also included among the infectees.
