Houses of former PFI leaders in Kerala raided by NIA

Kochi: The Popular Front of India (PFI) was banned by the Union Government, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is continuing the campaign against PFI by conducting raids on PFI associates' homes in Kerala on Thursday. The homes of many PFI leaders were raided by a special NIA team across the state.

According to official sources, the simultaneous raids started on Wednesday night and were conducted in 56 locations in the districts of Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Palakkad, Alappuzha, and Malappuram. The raids were carried out in response to information that some leaders were still actively organising the PFI's operation despite the ban, NIE reported.

The leaders' homes who had previously served as active PFI members were the target of the raids. The NIA, according to sources, has been keeping tabs on the activities of a number of PFI leaders since the ban and has got information that many of them have been holding secret meetings at various locations in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Malappuram, and Thiruvananthapuram. The NIA team is also gathering a few suspects' bank account information as part of the operations in order to trace financial transactions.
