Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government on Wednesday approved a revision in the salaries and benefits of the chairman and members of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC).

The decision was taken during a state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, according to an official release.

As per the revised structure, the PSC chairman’s salary will now be equivalent to the maximum amount in the super time scale of district judges, while members will receive a salary matching the maximum amount in the selection grade scale of district judges.

The government made this decision after reviewing the salary structures of PSC chairpersons and members in other states, the release said.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a revision in the salaries and allowances of presiding officers in industrial tribunals, aligning their pay and benefits with those of judicial officers in the subordinate judiciary.
