Manjeswaram MLA M C Kamarudhin arrested in Fashion gold scam case.

Manjeswaram (Kasarkode): IUML MLA M.C Kamarudhin arrested in a case of fraudulently accepting deposits from several people in the name of jewellary in a business owned by him, here in Kasaragod. Several investors on last July, realising that the business was collapsed and that they were being trapped ,complained to the Chandera police, which led to the arrest.

According to the police, more than 100 complaints were received in which most of them states that they were fallen under the halo of MLA and he has misused their trust on him.

However, after the business collapsed, Kamaruddin refused to take responsibility for investments, letting the investors forlorn.

The Chandera police had earlier raided his house and had registered a case against the Majeshwaram MLA and TK Pookoiya Thangal of IUML, under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, suspecting a multi-crore fraud. MC Kamaruddin is a sitting MLA from the Manjeshwara constituency in the Kasargod district.

Kamarudhin was elected as a member Kerala Legislative Assembly from Manjeshwaram constituency on 24 October 2019 through bypoll after the death of sitting MLA P. B. Abdul Razak.
