2,90,000 children are on the brink of death!! Gaza govt

Gaza City: Israel blocking food supplies to Gaza has resulted in children taking the brunt. Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) informed that more than 3,500 children below the age of five are facing imminent death by starvation, reported Al Jazeera.
GMO continued that around 2,90,000 children are on the edge of death due to the ongoing conflict in the enclave.
GMO issued a statement on Telegram on Sunday saying, “Under this systematic blockade, more than 3,500 children under the age of five face imminent death by starvation, while approximately 290,000 children are on the brink of death,” Al Jazeera quoted.
“At a time when 1.1 million children daily lack the minimum nutritional requirements for survival, this crime is being perpetrated by the ‘Israeli’ occupation using starvation as a weapon, amid shameful international silence,” GMO said.
It further said that 57 Palestinians starved to death, triggering a global outrage, but hasn't moved Israel to undo its blockade of aid into Gaza, which still houses 2.3 million people. Here, even supplies to prevent malnutrition are also dwindling while the documented cases of malnutrition rise.
According to Al Jazeera, the meagre amount of food available in the war-torn enclave is unaffordable for most and more than 80 per cent of the remaining population relies on humanitarian aid.
Aid groups and rights campaigners accuse Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 52,495 Palestinians and wounded 118,366, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health. As per updates by the GMO, the death toll could be more than 61,700 as thousands of people who remain missing could be under rubble and presumed to be dead.
