Iran executes another alleged Mossad spy
text_fieldsDubai: Iran on Monday executed a third individual accused of spying for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, intensifying its crackdown on alleged espionage amid ongoing hostilities with the Jewish state.
According to Iran’s judiciary-run Mizan news agency, the executed man was identified as Mohammad Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh. His case had previously drawn attention from Amnesty International, which reported that he was being held at Ghezal Hesar prison in Alborz province.
The latest execution follows that of Majid Mossayebi, who was hanged on Sunday. Details of Mossayebi’s case were only made public after his execution. A week earlier, on June 16, authorities executed another alleged Mossad agent, Esmail Fekri.
The recent wave of executions comes as Iran's theocratic regime issued a warning on Sunday, setting a deadline for individuals involved in spying to turn themselves in. Human rights activists fear the latest developments signal a broader crackdown, raising alarm over the potential for more executions in the coming days.
