Kuwait denounces Iranian missile, drone attacks targeting civilian facilities
text_fieldsKuwait has strongly condemned continued Iranian missile and drone attacks, including strikes carried out at dawn on Wednesday that targeted civilian and vital facilities across the country.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Kuwait International Airport was among the sites affected by the attacks.
The ministry said the strikes resulted in the death of one person, injuries to several others and damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions.
Kuwait described the attacks as acts of aggression that have contributed to further escalation in the region, increased tensions and undermined security and stability.
The ministry said the attacks constitute a violation of international law, the United Nations Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
It added that Kuwait’s security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents remain a “red line” and said the repeated attacks reflected what it described as a systematic pattern of aggression.
The statement also said Kuwait reserves its right to take appropriate measures in response to the repeated attacks in accordance with international law.
