Kuwait launches online platform for tourist, visit visa applications

Kuwait’s Interior Ministry on Wednesday launched a new digital portal allowing foreigners to apply for four types of visit visas online. The Kuwait Visa platform is available through the government’s communication center website.
The platform allows eligible travellers to apply for a tourist e-visa valid for 90 days. This visa is available to nationals eligible for a visa on arrival, including citizens of most European nations, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some Asian countries. GCC residents are also eligible.
The second visa type is the family visit visa, issued to families joining relatives living in Kuwait. Only those with a relative holding a valid residency can apply. This visa is open to all nationalities and is valid for 30 days.
The third option is the business visa, issued to individuals visiting for meetings, contract signings and other business purposes. Local companies, hotels and large corporations can apply for this visa, which is valid for 30 days.
The fourth visa type is the government visit visa. It is issued to officials from foreign countries and handled through government agencies under diplomatic protocol. It is also valid for 30 days.
