Oman: Civil Aviation Authority promotes cybersecurity awareness at Muscat, Salalah airports
text_fieldsThe Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman has launched a new phase of its Civil Aviation Cybersecurity Awareness Program with events at Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport. The initiative, themed “A Safe Journey in a Digital Space,” aims to educate travellers and aviation employees on digital safety and data protection.
Held in collaboration with strategic sector partners, the awareness campaign featured interactive booths that highlighted common cybersecurity threats faced by travellers. Passengers received informative materials offering practical tips on how to safeguard personal data before, during and after travel.
The campaign forms part of the program’s second edition and reflects Oman’s broader strategy to strengthen digital security across vital sectors. With civil aviation acting as a critical link for trade, tourism, and global connectivity, the CAA emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in ensuring operational continuity, passenger safety and public trust.
The event witnessed strong participation from both airport staff and passengers. The CAA stressed that as the aviation sector increasingly integrates advanced digital technologies, protecting sensitive systems and traveller information is essential.
Through such initiatives, the Civil Aviation Authority reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of digital resilience and contributing to Oman’s goal of becoming a secure and competitive regional aviation hub.
