FIFA launches official emblem for U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025
text_fieldsDoha: FIFA has revealed the official emblem for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, marking the countdown to a landmark edition of the global youth football tournament. For the first time in the event’s history, 48 teams will compete, with matches scheduled from November 3 to 27 across venues in Qatar.
The new emblem, launched ahead of the expanded edition, integrates the silhouette of the iconic trophy within the “U” of “U-17”, doubling as a spotlight—symbolising the tournament’s core identity of illuminating rising football stars. Designed to convey both heritage and future potential, the emblem is composed of warm, radiating colours that represent football’s global inclusivity, reach and energy.
Qatar’s Minister of Sports and Youth and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, said the launch signals a new chapter in Qatar’s continued legacy of hosting major football events.
“Turning our attention to youth tournaments was the natural next step, stemming from our long-term investment in youth development in sport,” he said.
Sheikh Hamad also expressed readiness to welcome young teams from around the globe to experience the country’s world-class infrastructure.
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström highlighted the tournament’s role in shaping future stars.
“The Official Emblem reflects the team spirit, youthful audacity and optimism that will define the competition in Qatar,” he said, adding that the host nation’s proven track record in delivering high-level football events sets the stage for a historic edition.
The U-17 World Cup has a notable legacy of spotlighting future global icons such as Ronaldinho, Xavi, Neymar, Luis Figo and Phil Foden. This year’s tournament follows Germany’s dramatic 2023 title win in Indonesia, where they triumphed over France on penalties.
The draw for the tournament will be held in Doha on May 25, 2025, and streamed live on FIFA+. Ticketing information will be released in the coming months, with fans encouraged to register their interest online.
The 2025 edition is expected to showcase top youth talent and reaffirm Qatar’s status as a hub for international football, continuing the momentum built from hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
