Doha: Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the continuation of online classes until January 27, given the current conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic and the rise in daily cases, Qatar News Agency has reported.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the ministry said that it had decided, after continuous consultation and co-ordination with the Ministry of Public Health and other parties concerned, and after assessing the overall public health situation in the country. As per the decision, distance learning system will continue, as will the suspension of attendance requirement in all public and private schools and kindergartens until January 27.

However, the attendance of administrative and teaching staff in public and private schools will be required to be 100%.
