Doha: The second edition of the Indian Mango Festival, locally known as the Hamba Exhibition, was inaugurated on June 12 at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif in Doha, drawing mango enthusiasts and dignitaries for a celebration of India’s famed fruit.

The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, alongside ambassadors from other nations, members of the diplomatic corps and senior officials from the Committee of the Private Engineering Office.

Organized jointly by Souq Waqif and the Embassy of India in Doha, the 10-day event runs until June 21 and features an expansive set of India’s most iconic mango varieties—including Alphonso, Kesar, Dussehri, Langda, Neelam, Rajapuri and Malgova—sourced from different Indian states.

Beyond fresh fruit, visitors can explore mango-inspired products such as juices, pickles, sweets and ice creams. The festival also highlights culinary diversity through 95 stalls run by around 35 Indian importers, restaurants and cafes, offering regional delicacies and innovative mango-based dishes.

Open daily from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm—and until 10:00 pm on weekends—the festival offers an immersive cultural experience and a chance to savour the agricultural richness of India. The Indian Embassy has extended an open invitation to all residents and visitors in Qatar to attend and enjoy this vibrant display of flavours and traditions.
