Riyadh: A Malayali taxi driver in Saudi Arabia was shot dead by vehicle-borne assailants close to his residence where he was washing his car during the early hours of Sunday. Basheer, hailing from Kerala’s Kasaragod district, worked as a house driver in the Bishah area in Aseer province.
According to preliminary information, unidentified persons appeared in a vehicle near Basheer’s residence, opened fire at him and fled the scene.
It is learned that local police initiated an investigation with CCTV footage from the area.
It is reported that the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) has commenced the necessary legal procedures to send Basheer’s body home, Mathrubhumi News reported.
