Jeddah: King Salman has ordered the hosting of 1,000 family members of Palestinians, killed or wounded in the ongoing Israel war on Gaza, for this year's Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

This follows a similar directive issued in May, which also included 1,000 family members of Palestinian victims of Israel's attacks on Gaza, bringing the total number hosted from Palestine to 2,000.

This initiative is part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah, supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.

Since its inception 26 years ago, the program has hosted over 60,000 pilgrims.
