Riyadh will introduce flexible working hours for employees at more than 50 government entities as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and commuting efficiency across the capital.

The initiative, launched by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, provides a four-hour window for employees to begin their workday.

Under the program, government entities operating under the Civil Service System will allow employees to start work between 5.30am and 9.30am.

For government entities operating under the Labor System, working hours can begin between 7am and 11am.

The initiative will be implemented across six key business districts: Digital City, Granada Business, Laysen Valley, King Abdullah Financial District, Roshn Waterfront and the Diplomatic Quarter.

Healthcare and public education institutions are excluded from the program.

RCRC said the initiative is intended to reduce congestion, improve daily travel efficiency, provide greater flexibility in attendance times and support quality of life in the city.
