The Ministry of Tourism has introduced a new electronic service to help hospitality facility operators in Makkah and Madinah apply for increased bed capacity ahead of the Hajj season in 1447 AH.

The initiative, available via the Tourism Activities Licensing Portal, is part of the ministry’s broader digital transformation strategy. It aims to simplify application procedures, improve service efficiency and strengthen overall readiness in the hospitality sector to meet the demands of pilgrims.

By launching this early, the ministry is supporting licensed accommodation providers with a smoother approval process while ensuring that quality standards are maintained. The move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance the pilgrim experience through modern digital solutions.

According to the ministry, the platform is designed to ensure pilgrims’ comfort and facilitate a peaceful and well-organised spiritual journey during Hajj.
