Saudi Arabia announced plans to construct a 92,000-capacity stadium in Riyadh, set to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2029. The stadium will host major international events and serve as the main base for the Saudi national team.

The Saudi sports ministry revealed the approved design, selected from submissions by six international companies. The stadium will meet FIFA requirements and emphasize sustainability and architectural excellence. It will be part of a sports complex including an indoor sports hall and an Olympic-sized pool and will be named after King Salman.

In March, Saudi Arabia launched its campaign to host the 2034 World Cup. With no other countries expressing interest before FIFA's deadline last year, the bid is almost guaranteed to succeed.
