Senior officials from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain held high-level talks in Manama on Wednesday to review the progress and future strategies of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC).

Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, Secretary-General of the IMCTC, met with Lt. Gen. Theyab Al-Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, to assess the coalition’s regional programs and achievements, including its operations in the African Sahel region.

The discussions focused on Saudi Arabia’s flagship counterterrorism training initiative, which has trained specialised operatives across more than 27 IMCTC member states. They also reviewed funding models and operational strategies aimed at enhancing the coalition's mission effectiveness.

Both sides stressed the need for stronger joint action and deeper coordination among member states. Key focus areas included combating ideological extremism, strategic media engagement, disrupting terrorism financing and improving military preparedness.
