Abu Dhabi authorities have extended maternity leave to 90 days for Emirati women working in the private sector. Previously, these women were entitled to 60 days, with 45 days fully paid and 15 days half-paid, as per UAE Labour Law.

The new initiative, implemented by the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, aligns with the public sector's three-month paid leave, ensuring adequate rest and care for newborns.

Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority will offer home visit services to support new mothers and monitor infant development. This initiative is part of six new measures by the Department of Community Development to support Emirati families, including marriage loans, loan deductions and rental assistance.
