Abu Dhabi Mobility said its green bus fleet has covered more than 1.3 million kilometres since operations began in 2024, as the emirate expands the use of low-emission transport.

The fleet includes buses powered by electric energy and hydrogen fuel cell technology, part of efforts to introduce cleaner systems in public transport.

Dr Abdullah Hamad Al Ghafli, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, said the milestone reflects investment in clean technology aimed at improving efficiency and passenger experience while supporting the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 targets.

The update coincided with World Public Transport Day on April 17, organised by the International Association of Public Transport. To mark the occasion, the centre introduced a “Public Transport to Work” initiative for employees.

The program encourages staff to commute by bus to help reduce congestion, cut emissions and support wider use of public transport.
