Abu Dhabi police urge parental vigilance against cybercrime during summer holidays

With schools closed for the summer, children are likely to spend more time on online devices. The Abu Dhabi Police have urged parents to protect their children from cybercrime by increasing supervision during the summer holidays.
As part of the 'Safe Summer' campaign, the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police emphasized guiding children on the safe use of electronic devices and selecting age-appropriate games. The police stressed the importance of parents spending quality time with their children to reduce screen time and mitigate risks of online bullying and abuse.
The police also warned about the dangers of purchasing online games from fake and unreliable sites, which can lead to bank account access, money theft and unauthorized monthly deductions from the card used.
The public is encouraged to assist in preventing crimes by contacting the department through the toll-free number 8002626 (AMAN2626), text messages to 2828, email at aman@adpolice.gov.ae or via the Abu Dhabi Police General Command smart app. The Aman security channel collaborates with the public to ensure community safety.
