Dubai Police have revealed the locations of both stationary and mobile Iftar cannons across the emirate as part of a long-standing Ramadan tradition.

The practice of firing cannons to signal the breaking of fast dates back decades and remains a cherished custom. The cannons will be fired twice on the eve of Ramadan and then once daily throughout the month at the same time as the Maghrib call to prayer, marking the end of the day's fast.

In addition to the first day of Ramadan, cannons will be fired twice to announce the arrival of Eid Al Fitr and again two times on the morning of Eid after prayers.

Here are the locations where fixed Iftar cannons will be placed in Dubai:

- Expo City Dubai

- Burj Khalifa

- Festival City

- Uptown

- Madinat Jumeirah

- DAMAC Hills

- Hatta Guest House

Additionally, three new locations have been added this year for mobile cannons, bringing the total to 17. These roaming cannons will be stationed at different locations for two days each, including:

- Meydan Hotel

- Satwa Mosque

- Al Marmoom

- Zabeel Park

- Al Khawaneej Majlis

- Festival City

- Al Wasl Park 1

- Madinat Jumeirah

- Barsha Park

- Lahbab

- Nad Al Sheba 1 - Al Ghaf

- Uptown Mirdif

- Margham

- Nazwah

- Nad Shamma Park

- Burj Khalifa

- Kite Beach Jumeirah

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by fasting from sunrise to sunset. According to the Hijri calendar published by the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), the holy month is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025, following the sighting of the crescent moon.
