The Consulate General of India in Dubai is holding a flag-hoisting ceremony on Monday for India’s 77th Republic Day, observed on January 26, 2026.

The event drew a large turnout from the Indian community in the UAE, with more than 4.3 million Indian expatriates living in the country.

Speaking during the ceremony, Indian Consul General Satish Sivan referred to recent developments in ties between the two countries, saying "bilateral relations reached new heights" after President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India last week.

"On behalf of the people of India, I express our deepest gratitude to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates for their unstinting support and friendship", he said.

Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India’s Constitution and is observed annually by Indian diplomatic missions worldwide.
