Dubai: New digital system set to tighten airport security screeners
text_fieldsThe Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in partnership with Dubai Police, has introduced a new Digital Security Screener Licensing System to strengthen aviation safety and align with international standards.
The initiative streamlines certification for airport security staff through advanced digital processes. Officials said it enhances compliance with both national and global aviation security requirements, while improving operational efficiency and sustainability.
The project supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing the emirate’s standing as one of the world’s most advanced aviation hubs.
At the launch ceremony, Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, highlighted the importance of the move.
“The Digital Security Screener Licensing System embodies our firm commitment to compliance with the highest security standards”, he said.
“It integrates smart systems and modern technologies to boost efficiency, enhance sustainability, and reinforce international confidence in Dubai’s aviation sector”.
The event was attended by senior officials, including Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Obaid Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Aviation Security and Accident Investigation Sector; Ahmad Belqaizi, Executive Director of the Aviation Safety and Environment Sector and Brigadier Hamed Al Hashmi, Acting Director of the General Department of Airport Security.
The DCAA said the initiative reflects Dubai’s vision to adopt smart technologies and further cement its role as a global aviation leader.
