Dubai RTA reveals reopening date for 4 metro stations closed after heavy rains

Dubai: Following the recent heavy rains that impacted the emirate in mid-April, four Dubai Metro stations were temporarily closed for safety reasons. However, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that normal operations will be restored soon, with the reopening of On Passive, Equiti, Mashreq and Energy Metro stations by May 28.

The RTA assured commuters that rigorous maintenance and safety tests are being conducted at the affected stations to ensure they meet the highest standards of operation and efficiency. These tests are crucial to guarantee the safety and comfort of passengers once the stations resume services.

During the temporary closure of the four Metro stations, the RTA has implemented alternative transportation measures to facilitate commuter movement. A fleet of 150 buses has been deployed to serve passengers travelling between Business Bay and several key destinations, including On Passive, Mall of the Emirates, Mashreq, Equiti, Dubai Internet City and Al Khail Metro stations. This initiative aims to minimise inconvenience for commuters while the Metro stations undergo necessary maintenance.
