Hatta will host the Open Sports Day on July 27, welcoming over 3,000 participants for a full day of recreational and competitive sports set against the backdrop of the region’s scenic mountain landscape. The event is part of the Dubai Sports Council’s ongoing “Our Summer is Sporty” initiative and is supported by the Supreme Committee for the Development of Hatta.

The Open Sports Day will feature public kayaking competitions and a running race at the iconic Hatta Dam, organized by Super Sports. The family-focused event includes a variety of physical activities catering to all age groups and fitness levels, aiming to promote community engagement and well-being.

The program aligns with a broader summer calendar of events in Hatta. The Hatta Summer Sports Tournament, running through July 31 at the Hatta Community Development Hall, includes a diverse mix of activities such as corporate football, girls’ badminton and volleyball, a seniors’ walking competition, a PlayStation tournament, a youth football festival, horseback riding, tug-of-war and a cultural quiz night. A special children’s tour themed around “Hatta Honey” is also part of the lineup.

Building on this momentum, organizers have announced additional wellness events for August, including a nighttime hike in Wadi Hub and a yoga session at Hatta Dam, aimed at expanding Hatta’s profile as a year-round destination for fitness and eco-tourism.

“Our Summer is Sporty” is a Dubai-wide initiative designed to embed physical activity into daily life. It includes a broad range of activities such as mall runs, beach sports, aquatic competitions, snow and mountain challenges, women-specific programs and events tailored for people of determination. Delivered in partnership with certified organizations, the initiative ensures safety and professionalism across all events.
