text_fieldsFujairah International Airport has announced a new partnership with IndiGo, India’s leading budget airline, to operate two direct daily flights from Mumbai and Kannur, starting May 15. The launch of these routes comes in response to growing travel demand from both residents and tourists in these Indian cities.
The collaboration marks a strategic milestone for Fujairah, making it IndiGo’s 41st international destination and the airline’s fifth in the UAE, following Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing more travel options for passengers and enhancing connectivity with vital destinations in India,” said Captain Ismail Mohammed Al Balooshi, General Manager of Fujairah International Airport.
He added, “We hope this move will contribute to consolidating Fujairah's position as a preferred gateway for travellers from the region and the world, in addition to its role in supporting local tourism.”
The new flights are expected to offer greater travel flexibility, competitive pricing and improved accessibility for passengers seeking alternatives to more congested airports.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of daily direct flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah, the hidden gem of the UAE, known for its natural beauty and strategic location.”
