text_fieldsTraffic fines over a decade old from the date of issuance can now be cancelled in Sharjah, following a new decision announced during a meeting of the Executive Council. As per the new regulation, a cancellation request can be submitted with a fee of Dh1,000.
However, the council specified that certain cases will be exempt from the cancellation fee. These include instances where proof is provided of the vehicle owner's death, where the owner has left the country for more than ten consecutive years, or where the vehicle was abandoned and the owner could not be located.
The decision was made during a Council meeting held at the Sharjah Ruler's office on Tuesday morning.
The session was chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, with the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, also Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
