Dubai: President Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the crucial role of youth in the UAE’s development on World Youth Skills Day.

"Youth are the strength, energy, ambition, and wealth of our nation. As the leaders of tomorrow they will be at the heart of our ongoing progress and must be enabled to contribute effectively to the UAE’s future development and prosperity," he stated on the social media platform X.

The UN designated July 15 as World Youth Skills Day to celebrate the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Earlier this month, the UAE introduced the Emirati Family Growth Programme to support youth in marriage. This initiative, announced by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, includes financial loans, rent assistance, extended maternity leave and housing loan deductions based on family size.

Additionally, a group of young Emiratis is participating in the Future Leaders Empowerment Programme in Singapore. This two-week course aims to enhance leadership qualities and self-confidence, with participants visiting institutions and factories while attending lectures and sessions to develop essential skills.
