UAE citizens will be permitted to travel to Lebanon beginning May 7, following a directive from President Sheikh Mohamed. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made it mandatory for travellers to register in advance via the Twajudi platform before departure.

According to the ministry, citizens must provide complete travel details, including place of residence in Lebanon, emergency contacts, and the purpose of the visit. Travellers must also update their information if it changes and report their return through the same service.

Failure to register could result in suspension of travel procedures and potential legal consequences, the ministry warned.

This move comes in the wake of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s recent visit to the UAE. The travel reopening is part of renewed efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries after diplomatic strains led the UAE to impose a travel ban and withdraw its diplomats in 2021.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed the UAE’s decision, describing it as a sign of the enduring fraternity between the two nations.

Earlier this year, the UAE reopened its embassy in Beirut, signalling a broader restoration of diplomatic and bilateral engagement.
