President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have called for greater regional peace and stability during Sheikh Mohamed’s state visit to Ankara.

President Erdogan received Sheikh Mohamed at the Presidential Palace with a formal welcome ceremony. The two leaders held talks to enhance cooperation under their comprehensive economic partnership.

Erdogan said the visit gives strong momentum to bilateral ties. Both sides reviewed progress in areas including trade, technology, energy, industry and food security.

They also discussed current regional and global developments, including the situation in the Middle East. The two leaders stressed their support for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to ongoing crises.

Sheikh Mohamed wrote on X, “The UAE and Turkey share a vision of strengthening regional peace and stability through diplomacy, and we remain committed to working together to achieve lasting development and prosperity for the region’s peoples".

Sheikh Mohamed arrived at Esenboga Airport, where he was received by Turkey’s Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar. Upon arrival at the palace, he was greeted with a guard of honour and national anthems.

The visit follows a recent phone call between the two leaders, where they reaffirmed their joint stance on promoting peace, especially amid the recent Iran-Israel ceasefire and continuing calls for peace in Gaza.
