Yemen’s Houthis claim drone attacks on Eilat and Negev

Sanaa: Yemen’s Houthi group has claimed responsibility for three drone attacks targeting Israel, including one aimed at the port of Eilat and two others directed at what they described as a military site in the Negev region.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said they would continue launching missile and drone strikes against Israel until “the aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted.”
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli military confirmed it had intercepted a drone launched by the Houthis towards the Red Sea city of Eilat.
"The IAF (Israel Air Force) intercepted a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) that was launched from Yemen," the Israeli military said in a statement.
No injuries or damage were reported from the incident. Israel has not issued any official statement regarding the alleged Houthi attacks on the Negev, according to Xinhua news agency.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Houthi forces have launched numerous missiles and drones toward Israel, expressing solidarity with the Palestinians. Many of these have been intercepted or failed to reach their targets.
In retaliation, Israel has carried out multiple strikes on Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen, including ports.
On 10 July, the Houthis claimed to have launched a ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel, which was reportedly intercepted by Israeli defense systems.
