UK begins to distance itself from Netanyahu’s war policies

The United Kingdom has sometimes described itself as an ally of Israel despite there never having been a treaty of alliance. Indeed, were it not for the British Government’s Balfour Declaration of 1917, perhaps the Jewish State would not have come into existence. Israel and the UK, together with France, conspired to attack Egypt in 1956. In contravention of the agreement, the Israelis later published this text.

British politicians have often lined up to call themselves friends of Israel. In the ruling Labour Party, there is Labour Friends of Palestine, which is much bigger than Labour Friends of Israel. But LFI carries far more sway than LFP. The Conservative Party is almost entirely Zionist.

The minor British parties such as the Scottish National Party (SNP), Green Party, Reform UK and the Liberal Democrats are not Zionist.

Rishi Sunak was the Prime Minister when the 7 October attacks occurred. Sunak, a Conservative, flew to Israel to commiserate. He never commiserated with the Palestinians for the tens of thousands of civilian murders they have suffered. Mr Sunak said he knew that Israel would respond to the assaults by Hamas in consonance with international law. Sunak has a first-class degree from Oxford and an MBA from Stanford. He does not have the excuse of imbecility. Everyone knows that Israel NEVER acts in consonance with international law.

His Majesty’s Government bent over backwards to facilitate the Israelis. It continually acted as a cheerleader for atrocities. The Leader of His Majesty’s Most Loyal Opposition in 2023 was Sir Keir Starmer (he is now Prime Minister). Starmer said that Israel was right to cut off drinking water to Palestine. Starmer was head of the Crown Prosecution Service before he entered politics. Sir Keir Starmer, therefore, knows all about criminal law. He was inciting genocide.

David Lammy, the Foreign Secretary, is a member of LFP and LPI. He is as two-faced as it is possible to be. How can Lammy support the illegal occupier and those who are illegally occupied? Lammy is a barrister but claimed not to know the law on crimes against humanity.

Israel’s crimes against Palestinian civilians were so prolific and so barbarous that even the United Kingdom took action. The UK stopped arms sales to Israel for a while.

There is a superabundance of evidence from the UN and human-rights organisations that Israel is starving people to death in Gaza. It has attacked countless hospitals and clinics. A bombing of a school murdered fifty children lately. Israel said it was a Hamas command post. If that were true, Israel could have bombed it in the middle of the night. But they did it in the daytime to maximise the deaths of children.

Israelis have proudly published videos of the abuse and humiliation of Palestinians whom they take hostage. If this is what they do, knowing it will be published, what do they do behind closed doors? Far worse.

The Daily Telegraph – a Zionist newspaper – said that halting arms was immoral and illegal. The immorality of the deliberate targeting of Palestinian civilians, the kidnapping of thousands of people and the widespread use of torture was not at all as immoral or illegal according to this publication.

There are frequent pro-Palestinian marches. Five pro-Palestine independent MPs were elected. This was the first time such a thing had happened. All are Muslims elected in areas with a significant Muslim community.

Several Western countries recognised Palestine in 2024: Norway, the Irish Republic, Spain and Slovenia. Others may yet do so.

Tel Aviv took the recognition of Palestine very badly indeed. The Zionist entity closed its embassy in Dublin. It released a video mockingly playing Irish folk music over images of Israeli civilians slain on 7 October.

The State of Israel may yet come to regret shuttering its embassy in Ireland. It might not be easy to reopen. It is a useful listening post for its spies. The Republic of Ireland is a medium-sized economy and culturally punches above its weight. Many Irish people call themselves “Paddystinian” – a portmanteau of “Paddy” (slang for an Irishman) and “Palestinian.”

Some British aid workers were allowed into Gaza in 2024 by Israel. They told the IDF where they were driving and when. The IDF blew up the vehicle anyway and thereby murdered British civilians.

Did the UK Government protest about the wilful murder of its people? Oh no. It blamed the victims. London’s craven advocacy for the murder of its own people was sickening. Imagine if Hamas or Iran or anyone else had murdered British aid workers. The British Government would not be defending the murderers.

Any insistence on human rights for Palestinians is called antisemitism. The Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, said that pro-Palestine marches were “hate marches.” She said the display of the Palestinian national flag is not legitimate. Her anti-Arab bigotry was so extreme that even Sunak sacked her.

The United Kingdom sells arms to Israel. This is a tiny fraction of the Israel Defence Force (IDF) inventory. Israel has its own mighty and very sophisticated military-manufacturing industry. Israel purchases British arms partly to keep the United Kingdom sweet.

Ha-Mossad (Israeli external intelligence) has a formidable reputation. Its long arm has committed murder against civilians all over the world, including in Norway, the United Kingdom and Iran. MI5 and MI6 (British internal and external intelligence, respectively) cooperate with Mossad amicably. That is because Mossad often had high-grade information that was very valuable to the British.

The United Kingdom has a small Jewish community. They are only 0.4 per cent of the population. They are very much concentrated in London, where they form 2 per cent of the population. The Jewish community has far more wealth than 0.4 per cent. British Jewry is extraordinarily successful in education, finance and politics. By no means are all British Jews Zionists, but most are. Most British Jews have at least one cousin in Israel. Some British Jews are dual Israeli citizens.

In 2025, the UK Government finally lost patience with the Netanyahu Administration. London deprecated Tel Aviv’s intensified attacks on Gaza.

It is impossible to be too cynical about British politics. The British Labour Party is worried about its slide in the polls. The party is at panic stations after a disastrous performance in the local elections, only a year after it won the general election. It has made some nods to the left with increased benefits payments to the elderly. Labour is trying to win back voters. That is why it is finally speaking up for Palestine, albeit quietly.

Even some Conservative MPs have said that the United Kingdom ought to recognise Palestine as a sovereign state. Previously, this was taboo in the party. Those who dared to raise their voices for Palestinians will probably be deselected as Conservative parliamentary candidates before the next election by the Zionist cabal that runs the party.

There is little that the United Kingdom can do to cajole Israel. Trade with Britain is a tiny fraction of the Israeli economy. The end of intelligence sharing would hurt Israel a bit more. But the United Kingdom is very unlikely to do so, as it considers the intelligence given by Mossad to be very useful indeed. The blockage of all arms sales would make precious little difference to the IDF. The moral isolation of being rejected by the UK would upset Israel.

There is talk of sanctioning illegal settlements on Palestinian land. But the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement has made little headway in the UK.

There are Israelis who revile Netanyahu for many reasons. He is a Pinocchio. He is very corrupt. He cheated on his first wife and married a Gentile woman. They know he is prolonging this war to avoid going to prison for bribery. He is causing the deaths of more Israelis, and Israelis care about that even when they do not care about Palestinians. He is keeping the hostages in Hamas’s hands. Netanyahu has wrecked Israel’s reputation even among its friends. Almost every government except the USA is revolted by his crimes. Some Israelis are alarmed at how much he has acted to the detriment of their national interests in furtherance of his own.
