Thiruvananthapuram: Former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar will replace K Surendran as the BJP state president, ending uncertainties over changing of the guard.

It is reported that the party’s Central leadership nominated Rajeev Chandrashekhar at the core committee meeting held in Delhi on Sunday.

However, the party is yet to officially announce the new president just as names of other aspirants are being bandied about in the media.

Chandrashekhar, the former Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, lost to Shashi Tharoor MP in the Lok Sabha polls for Thiruvanathapuram constituency after putting up a tough fight.
