New Delhi: Indian powerlifter Bhavna Tokekar makes a record in the World Powerlifting Championship in Manchester, UK. She is the wife of a serving Group Captain in the Indian Air Force (IAF), IANS reported.

Bhavna, the mother of two, is participating in the tournament as a Master 3 athlete (age 50-54) in the weight category of under 75 kg. In Full Powerlifting and Bench Press events. She had so far made four world records.

She squatted with 102.5kg, a world record (previous record 90kg), did a bench press of 80kg (previous record 40kg), and then had a deadlift of 132.5kgs (previous record 105kg). Her total lift of 315kg was also a world record.

In 2019, she won gold medals in powerlifting at the Open Asian Championship in Russia, Power Sportz had reported then.
