Elon Musk does not use computer, his lawyer claims in court filing

New York: Billionaire Elon Musk’s lawyer claimed in a recent court filing that the Tesla CEO ‘does not use a computer’.
However, it did not take much to refute the claim after Musk himself seemingly contradicted it in multiple social media posts.
The claim, according to India Today, was made during the ongoing legal battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI.
The filing was made after OpenAI accused Musk and his AI startup, xAI of having failed to comply with the ‘discovery obligations in the lawsuit Musk filed earlier this year,’ the report said.
Giving himself away, Musk earlier shared an image of what he described as his laptop.
Musk claimed at the time that he was testing Starlink’s in-flight streaming capabilities while playing the game Diablo.
The laptop had a Dogecoin-themed sticker across its lid, which he said a fan in Germany had gifted him.
On 1 June 2025 Musk in a post, expressing his affection for computer, said he was using his ‘ancient PC laptop with the @DOGE sticker made long ago by a fan’.
The photo of the laptop, a Gigabyte Aero popular among PC gamers, suggests Musk uses it for personal and professional purposes.
In February 2024, Musk in a post said he was about to buy a new PC laptop.
Back then, he complained about Microsoft’s setup process, which he said forced users to create an account before accessing the device.
This in turn gave AI access to his computer, adding that ‘This is messed up’.
The next day, he tagged Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella urging the company to ‘restore the option to skip Microsoft account login during setup’.
In the wake of these posts, the claim that Musk’s legal team made appears to be self-contradictory.
