Tesla to open Delhi showroom on August 11
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Tesla, led by billionaire Elon Musk, will open its second showroom in India in Delhi on August 11, less than a month after launching its first outlet in Mumbai.
The company announced its upcoming debut in the capital on X, saying, “Arriving in Delhi – stay tuned,” alongside a promotional graphic. The new Tesla Experience Centre will be located at Aerocity’s Worldmark 3 complex, targeting customers in the National Capital Region, a key market for India’s electric mobility drive.
Tesla entered the Indian market last month with a showroom at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, where it unveiled its electric midsize SUV, the Model Y, priced from around Rs 60 lakh. Deliveries of the Model Y are expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.
The Mumbai launch was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who welcomed Tesla’s entry and invited the company to establish R&D and manufacturing facilities in the state.
The Model Y is available in two variants: a standard rear-wheel drive with a 60 kWh battery offering a WLTP-certified range of 500 km, and a long-range rear-wheel drive with a 75 kWh battery capable of up to 622 km on a single charge.
Deliveries will be prioritized for customers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Gurugram, with vehicles transported via flat-bed trucks directly to buyers’ homes. Tesla has also updated its website to enable vehicle registration across all states and union territories, extending access beyond its initial launch cities.
While the company lists its full self-driving (FSD) feature as a Rs 6 lakh optional extra, it plans to introduce the advanced capability in India at a later stage.
