UAE waives overstay fines for Iranian citizens on presidential orders

The UAE has announced the exemption of all overstay fines for Iranian nationals currently in the country, following directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that the waiver applies to both residents and visitors, regardless of visa type. The decision comes in response to the ongoing regional disruptions that have left many Iranians unable to return home due to airspace closures and flight suspensions.

In a statement, the ICP said the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values and its support for those affected by the exceptional circumstances. The authority urged eligible individuals to register for the exemption through the ICP Smart Services Platform or by visiting any customer happiness centre across the country.
