Brussels: The member nations of the European Union (EU) have decided to increase a fund that supports military assistance in Ukraine. Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, made the announcement, according to the Xinhua news agency.

"This is already the second increase of the European Peace Facility funding since its creation in 2021," said Borrell. According to Borrell, the fund will be boosted by 3.5 billion euros ($3.8 billion).

"Ukraine remains our No.1 priority," Borrell tweeted after the decision was adopted. One month ago, EU defence ministers failed to reach an agreement on this second increase in budget.
