Sikh girl's turban forcibly removed, beaten at Pakistan Christian school

Faisalabad (Pakistan): A Sikh girl at St. Catherine Girls High School in Faisalabad's Warispura area had her turban ripped off and was brutally assaulted after refusing Christian prayers, reports Khalsa Vox.
The Amritdhari student's mother, who has three daughters and one son, said school staff kicked and punched her asthmatic daughter in the stomach. When another daughter tried to intervene, teachers dismissed it as faking illness.
Sikh Brotherhood International condemned the attack and demanded action against the administration. The mother accused local Sikh leaders of ignoring her pleas and called for justice.
The family has faced prior horrors. The mother was once illegally held for nine months by two brothers and their father in Faisalabad, enduring alleged sexual assault and torture. They also dishonored her son's sacred hair, per her account. A journalist's report prompted Punjab's Minority Affairs Minister to push police for her release.
Sikh communities in Muslim-majority Pakistan now question authorities amid rising minority abuses.
