India expels Pakistani official at Pak mission, asked to leave in 24 hours

In a sharp diplomatic move amid tense relations between the two countries, the Indian government has expelled an unnamed Pakistani official who was working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, calling him "persona non grata" for acting in ways "not in keeping with his official status."

The action came amid heightened tension between the two countries following their four-day military confrontation.

On Tuesday, a formal demarche expressing India's extreme disapproval of the official's actions was issued to the Pakistan High Commission's Chargé d'Affaires, Indian Express reported.

The unidentified official has been given a 24-hour notice to depart the country. The nature of alleged activity was not further explained by the Ministry of External Affairs.
