Dubai: Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr Suhel Khan inspected facilities set up on Thursday to ensure a smooth pilgrimage for Indian Hajj pilgrims, PTI reported.
India has a total Hajj quota of 1.75 lakh pilgrims for 2025.
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh, in a post on X, said Ambassador Khan inspected various functional desks, branch offices, and branch dispensaries set up to serve the Indian pilgrims in Makkah.
He was accompanied by Consul (Haj) Muhammed Abdul Jaleel and other coordinators, it said.
Khan, along with Jaleel, also "undertook a comprehensive review of the Azizia transport in Makkah", the embassy said.
"Azizia transport is seamless, 24-hour service provided for the pilgrims from their residences to the Haram Sharif by the Indian Haj Mission," it said.
Meanwhile, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the “Enriching the Field Path” initiative as part of Saudi Arabia’s operational plan for the upcoming Hajj season, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Designed to deepen pilgrims’ spiritual experience, the initiative introduces over 20 educational, technical and faith-based programs in multiple languages. These efforts aim to provide scientific guidance and raise awareness of the principles of a moderate Hajj.
The campaign incorporates digital tools, artificial intelligence and multilingual platforms to help pilgrims perform their rituals with greater understanding and devotion. It also focuses on promoting values of compassion, wisdom and moderation in religious practice.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency, stressed the need to strengthen on-the-ground engagement and enhance enrichment services for pilgrims. He highlighted the importance of using innovative technology to bridge geographical gaps and ensure a spiritually fulfilling Hajj for all.
