Trump shares AI video of Obama’s ‘arrest’ amid intelligence controversy over 2016 election

In a provocative move, U.S. President Donald Trump has shared an AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama being arrested by the FBI, escalating tensions over new allegations linked to the 2016 presidential election.

The one-minute clip, posted on Trump’s Truth Social account, shows Obama being handcuffed in the Oval Office while Trump watches and smiles.

The video begins with Obama stating, “No one, especially the President, is above the law,” followed by a montage of prominent Democrats, including Joe Biden, echoing, “No one is above the law.”

The clip concludes with a digitally generated image of Obama in a prison jumpsuit inside a jail cell.

The video contains no disclaimer indicating that it was created using artificial intelligence.

The AI video resurfaced shortly after Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, accused Obama and senior members of his administration of engaging in a “treasonous conspiracy” to undermine Trump’s 2016 election win. Speaking publicly, Gabbard claimed that Obama’s top national security team had deliberately manipulated intelligence assessments related to Russian interference in the election.

In a series of posts on X, Gabbard alleged that intelligence findings were “manufactured” and politicised to discredit Trump and challenge the legitimacy of his victory. She further stated that her office has submitted documentation to the Department of Justice, calling for a full criminal probe.

“No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Gabbard said, as reported by The Guardian.

The AI video was originally posted on TikTok before Trump reshared it, sparking further debate over the use of artificial intelligence in political messaging, particularly without transparency or disclaimers.
