An educational institution in Bengaluru, which is run by a Malayali who is a die-hard fan of actor Mohanlal, has announced a holiday on the day of the release of the Malayalam film L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, and has also organised exclusive screenings of the film for students, faculty, and community members.

Good Shepherd Institutions in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, offers nursing, paramedical, and degree programmes, has been operating for over 23 years, and its student strength exceeds 500.

Dr K R Anil Kumar, the managing director of the college, stated that the decision to declare a holiday was aimed at fostering a sense of community, and he emphasised that providing students with recreational experiences could help steer them away from harmful behaviours. Kumar, who is a fan of Mohanlal, mentioned that cultural and entertainment-based activities contribute to student engagement, and he highlighted the importance of balancing academics with leisure.

To facilitate the film screening, the college administration has booked two screens at YGR Mall in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, and the event will be open to students, their families, faculty, and local community members.

The film’s release coincides with the college’s graduation ceremony on March 26, and the event is expected to be attended by dignitaries such as the Goa governor and the vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
